What is cystitis?

Cystitis is an inflammation of the bladder mucosa that predominantly affects females due to the anatomical shape of the urethra . It is estimated that a woman develops at least one episode of cystitis every year , although in some patients the episodes repeat frequently and we then speak of recurrent cystitis .

Causes

The causes that trigger the development of cystitis are different, but the main one remains the bacterial infection , mainly due to a pathogen called: Escherichia Coli , often coming from the intestine. More rarely, however, the infection is triggered by fungi.

Risk factors:

Use of tampons;
Poor intimate hygiene
Malformations of the urinary system;
Sexual intercourse;
Use of the catheter;
Poor or excessive intimate hygiene;
Debilitation of the immune system following antibiotic therapy.

Symptoms

The symptoms of cystitis are very different and depend both on intrinsic factors (age, sex and physical condition of the subject) but also on external factors such as the type of infecting organism and the bacterial load .

When and how to use CISTIFLOREN ® 1000

IN PREVENTION

1 stick pack per day, preferably in the evening before bedtime.

When to do prevention: in case of relapses, asymptomatic bacteriuria, catheterization.

IN ACUTE:

In combination with antibiotic therapy. 2 stick packs per day for 7 days, one in the morning and one in the evening. Then continue with 1 stick pack for at least 2 weeks or even up to 4 weeks in case of relapses.
