Ours is a people of sedentary people : study, work and even leisure lead us to spend a lot of time sitting at the desk or in front of the computer and mobile phone.
We are now addicted to technology and this at the expense of health.
Because?
Spending hours and hours sitting in the same position forces the torso to suffer a little more, strains the eyes and weighs down the legs. Educating the body to adopt certain movements and postures is essential.
What rules should you keep in mind?
- A classic is sitting in front of the PC with your back curved. Nothing more wrong! To have a correct position at the PC, it is very important to keep the back straight: the spine should find the right support with the back of the chair.
- Use chairs or armchairs with an S-curve, comfortable for the back.
- Keep your feet firmly planted on the ground with the help of a small stool.
- Avoid crossing your legs.
- Keep the keyboard at elbow level
- Keep the right distance from the computer screen. There should be a distance of 50 to 80cm between the monitor and the eyes depending on the size of the screen.
Our tip:
- Stretching every now and then is important for anyone who spends most of their time sitting. But be careful , doing 5 minutes a day of exercises is not enough, you have to dedicate the right time throughout the day to get the right benefits.
- Helping arms and back: join your hands over your head, bend your torso to the right until you feel a pull. 20 seconds for each exercise.
- Helping arms, back, neck: touch the shoulder blade with the corresponding hand. Take the elbow with the other hand and push towards the palm of the hand. Repeat the exercise for the other arm. Very useful for loosening muscles and working the neck and shoulders.
- Legs: Extend your legs forward and keep them raised for a few seconds, dangling! Repeat the exercise 5 times. Since the arms and hands are not involved, this exercise can often be done even during work.
