ALLERGY
The term allergy refers to an altered and exaggerated response of the immune system.
Normally this is activated when the body comes into contact with one or more substances from the external environment that are potentially dangerous; in the case of an allergic manifestation, the immune system reacts excessively to those substances of common use and consumption (for example: pollen, dust, animal hair, food, chemical compounds, metals, drugs, etc.), which do not create no disturbance to most other individuals.
The organism of the allergic person recognizes in these foreign substances a danger to its integrity, it fights them by producing antibodies in a way higher than normal and thus giving rise to symptoms mainly of the skin type (urticaria, wheals), respiratory (asthma, rhinitis), ocular (conjunctivitis) and intestinal.
