Turmeric powder is a natural spice of Asian origin known for its extraordinary properties for centuries.
Excellent for preparing sandwiches to be filled with what you prefer, both in sweet and savory versions.
Here is the complete recipe to prepare them.
- 500 grams of flour 00
- 1 large spoonful of Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 25 gr of fresh brewer's yeast
- 1 glass of milk
- 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
- 1 teaspoon of fine salt
- poppy seeds to taste
- sesame seeds to taste
- chia seeds to taste
First, dissolve the brewer's yeast in a glass of warm milk.
In a separate bowl put the flour, turmeric , honey and also the two tablespoons of oil. Pour the dissolved yeast and start and mix all the ingredients with a fork, then work with your hands on the floured table, and knead very well, for several minutes, until it forms a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Return to the bowl, cut a cross on the surface and let it rise for about 45 minutes, covered with a clean cloth. It must double its volume. After the resting time, take the dough and form balls, dividing it into equal parts. Place them in a baking tray covered with parchment paper and leave to rest for 30 minutes.
In the meantime, turn on the oven and heat it up to 190 ° C.
Before putting them in the oven it is possible to add mixed seeds on the surface: sesame, poppy, chia.
Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
The integrated turmeric powder is associated with black pepper which allows a greater bioavailability of curcumin, the main component of turmeric and responsible for its beneficial properties.
Once ready, let them cool and then stuff them with what you prefer: cold cuts, cheeses, grilled vegetables for those who prefer the savory version, while with jam, dried fruit creams, chocolate for those who prefer the sweet version. For a dessert even on top of the mountain!
