PERILLA AND BLACK CURRANT AGAINST ALLERGY, WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS

PERILLA

In 2004, the Takano study was published on the strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect of rosmarinic (polyphenolic) acid of Perilla frutescens and its favorable effects in case of allergic rhinitis . After 21 days of starting the intake, there was a noticeable decrease in symptoms (red eyes, watery eyes, stuffy nose and sneezing) and in the number of immunoglobulin E (IgE) present in the blood.

From a subsequent research carried out in 2011 in Korea, by the Institute of Oriental Medicine and by Kyung Hee University, it emerges that the dry powder extract of Perilla, associated with rosmarinic acid, reduces the level of histamine in a very short time with consequent improvement. allergic inflammatory reactions, such as rhinitis And rhinoconjunctivitis allergic type.

In short, it became the plant of choice in antiallergic formulations, without presenting the side effects typical of similar pharmacological remedies. The flavone complexes are present in the leaves and seeds, but only from the latter is the extract obtained which, by acting on the release of histamine, is able to calm the inflammatory response of the organism.

Perilla also inhibits the mediating action of an enzyme involved in allergic forms and in particular in asthmatic bronchoconstriction .

Finally, it has also been shown to be active in type IV allergies, such as contact dermatitis, contact eczema and reactions of hypersensitivity delayed typical of some viral infections.

Pharmacological studies on Perilla do not report toxicity and no significant side effects are reported. The most surprising finding is the lack of typical side effects of antihistamine drugs:

  • Drowsiness,
  • poor ability to concentrate,
  • contraindication to driving,
  • habituation.

CURRANT NIGRUM

Ribes Nigrum is now known by all the people who suffer from allergies and it is particularly precious when spring arrives and the first pollen and feathers arrive.

Its action is linked to the presence in the buds of essential oil, flavonoids and glycosides which act as stimulants of the adrenal glands in the production of cortisol, a hormone that helps the body to react to inflammations . For this reason it is considered a "cortison-like", that is a plant with an action similar to that of cortisone.

The bud extract is particularly effective, i.e. the glycerine macerate obtained by combining the buds of the ribes nigrum with a mixture of water, alcohol and glycerin.

How to use Ribes Nigrum bud extract

Since it is a totally natural product, it is necessary to start taking it in advance and constantly; no side effects were found in case of prolonged intake. Ribes Nigrum also has a great advantage over traditional antihistamines: it does not make you drowsy, on the contrary, thanks to its tonic properties, it gives natural support and vigor.

Take 50 drops in the morning and 50 drops 6 hours after the first intake. It is advisable not to take it after 17.00 because its tonic properties could give vitality by disturbing the night's rest.

Other properties of Nigrum currant:

  • drains body fluids,
  • supports urinary tract health,
  • supports joint function,
  • contributes to the well-being of the nose and throat,
  • supports the integrity and functionality of cell membranes, promoting the exchange of nutrients and oxygen: this is a fundamental action since the cell is the building block used to build our body, if the cells are healthy and vital we too we are.

The right nutrition

Those who choose natural remedies for allergies can facilitate and enhance their action through their diet. It will in fact be a good idea to considerably reduce the consumption of foods that contain histamine or that favor its release in the intestine, such as chocolate, cheese, alcohol, fish and seafood, tomatoes, spinach, aubergines and mushrooms.

The advice to drink a lot of water is always valid: an organism in which an allergic reaction is in progress is congested, it is therefore necessary that the mucous membranes are well hydrated; moreover, several scientific studies have shown that increasing the daily intake of water decreases the production of histamine.
