Being outdoors is by far the favorite game for children.
Running, jumping in the midst of nature not only develops the cognitive and motor system, but is good for mood and socialization.
Outdoor play should be encouraged where possible, especially with the arrival of summer. It represents a way for children to do some physical activity while having fun, it stimulates not only socialization and coordination but also appetite and thirst, so it is important to always have a snack and water at hand.
Wherever you are: at the sea, in the countryside, in the garden or in the park you can create many different games, space for imagination!
Here are some examples, from the most popular and classic games to some news and suggestions:
THE TREASURE HUNT
An always appreciated classic is the treasure hunt where children of all ages have fun hiding objects and finding them. Whoever manages to find the most wins.
CATCHER
Universal and very simple game that children also organize spontaneously. All the children run away except one who has to chase them and "catch one".
COLOR COLOR
This game consists in identifying an object of a particular color in the surrounding space, then the others will try to guess what one has thought about. For example, if a child says "My eyes see something green", the other children will try to guess the object they were thinking about. Endless fun!
THE RESTAURANT
Have you ever thought that even outdoors you can play managing a restaurant or an ice cream parlor?
Just have two pots, some cutlery and you're done: the grass will become the salad, the sand the soup, the pebbles of the meatballs and so on.
Taking advantage of what nature offers us is really an excellent starting point for children who will not struggle to set their imagination in motion!
BICYCLE, SCOOTER, ROPE
For sports lovers, the bicycle or the beloved scooter cannot be missing. Having fun together doing small races in a beautiful tree-lined avenue or in a spacious garden is another timeless game. Rope jumping also stimulates coordination a lot, especially for older children.
THE SUPERMARKET
Do you have a game shopping cart or does your grandmother have one for shopping at the market? Even a simple object like this stimulates the imagination of children, who create their ideal supermarket surrounded by nature and greenery.
What do your children love to do outdoors?
What matters is to enjoy the sunny afternoons, as many as possible, and play together in company!
