THE RECIPE CORNER: STEW OF BEEF WITH CHOCOLATE

Food and love? A perfect combination that has always been, especially if he is the protagonist: chocolate!

Usually we think of a dessert but who said that it cannot be the main ingredient of a second course or an appetizer, giving it an exotic and magical touch?

We present a second delicious and original: the beef stew with chocolate, here are the ingredients:

  • 15 g of bitter chocolate
  • 250 g of beef cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 glass of white wine
  • 3 tablespoons of brandy
  • 100 g of pistachios
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • a few leaves of sage
  • 2 mint leaves
  • a few leaves of thyme
  • flour
  • salt
  • pepper

In an earthenware pan, brown the pieces of meat in oil, sprinkle them with flour, pour over the wine and immediately afterwards the brandy. Season with salt and pepper and add the sage, mint and thyme leaves. Cook the stew over low heat and with the lid on, adding a little broth or hot water from time to time. Cooking takes about an hour.

When cooked, add the previously chopped hazelnuts (if you want the hazelnut flavor to be more intense, do not chopped too finely). Finally grate the chocolate and sprinkle it over the meat. Finally, turn the heat back on for a few minutes until the chocolate has completely liquefied.

It is possible to accompany this dish, if desired, with a radicchio salad enriched with dark chocolate flakes and two drops of lemon.
