Ginger has a warm , enveloping and pungent taste . Combined with other spices such as cinnamon it is able to create a welcoming and super Christmas atmosphere in a short time.
So here are some ideas for very simple recipes that will make you look great!
Cookies with ginger
Ingredients
- 50 g rice flour;
- 250 g flour 0;
- 70 g sunflower oil;
- 100 g powdered sugar;
- to taste fresh grated ginger;
- 1 pinch of salt.
Method
Mix the sugar and oil and add the sifted flours, grated ginger and a pinch of salt , gradually, starting to work the dough. Once homogeneous, let it rest in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Proceed by rolling out the dough with a rolling pin and giving it the shape you want. If you do not have molds, you can create them with the bottom of a cup, a glass or simply cut them with a knife.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 180 ° for about 10-15 minutes, checking that they are lightly browned.
Allow to cool and garnish with powdered sugar.
Candied ginger
Ingredients before cooking:
- ginger (450g)
- boiling water
Second cooking ingredients:
- boiled ginger 160 gr
- water 100 gr
- sugar 160 gr
- salt up to 1 tsp
Peel the ginger and form squares of about 2 cm , put them in a saucepan and cover it entirely with water, then let them boil for about 30 minutes. Once the time is up, extract the ginger and place it in another pan, adding the sugar, water and salt.
Using a gentle flame, continue mixing the ingredients until the water has completely evaporated. The ginger will be ready when small bubbles form on the surface, then turn off the heat and let it cool.
Sprinkle the ginger with the sugar and let it cool down further.
The candied ginger will then be ready to be served next to a nice hot herbal tea .
