PROPERTIES OF BROMELINE
The termbromelainrefers to twoenzymesproteolytics, discovered respectively one in the fruit and the other in the stem of theAnanas comosus. These are enzymes that break down proteins into very small fragments, allowing them to be absorbed. They are therefore fundamental for correctdigestion of food proteins.
ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY
Therebromelainit is particularly effective in all inflammatory conditions, including those due to physical trauma or surgery.
The action ofbromelainis due to its ability to inhibit the production of cytokines, present in large quantities during inflammatory states.
It also seems that thebromelain, always for its action onproteins, is attracted to those present indamaged tissuesand promote its repair.
